2009 Recap Part 5

A small casual meet and shoot with members of a Canadian Toyota forum I'm on, we crashed a Supra forum meet, I got a chance to meet some contacts hope to get some shoots with some of these guys this year.

A lovely example of a nice mint clear 86

This day was fither proof for me these days of car meets are less about shooting at the meet itself, and more about meeting contacts for future shoots, there is such a lack of creative freedom, and even if you get someone willing to do a small lil thing away from the other cars its so hard to find the owner of the car your interested in.

Was actaully quite impressed with the speed these 86s get into the one above is near stock from a performance standpoint but with such a low weight it is really no slouch, granted it one was of the 1st times I've been in a car with someone flooring it on a street.

Was overall a good day though, got to meet some cool people, and hopefully some friends for the future and people who wont mind giving me a hand when I get my own Toyota.

One of my fav shots with some of my favorite cars, a lot looking forward to having some time with that gray hatch its doing about 260hp at the rear wheels with a 4AGTE, that machine when the pedal was on the floor, gave me a feeling of terror I have never felt in a car before, its interesting hearing "only" 260hp but when you put something that powerful in a car that ways under a ton, WOW it moves.

As usual check out my flickr for higher res photos as well as more photos from this set and more.

2009 Recap Part 4

A night shoot with my photography mentor and a few S14s, overall I ended up trimming alot from this set simply for things not working out how I had intended, still a good night though to chill, learn some techniques with some guys I met at the Son240 meet.

Another one of my favorite photos, it was a eureka moment for me, when I seen the set up, sadly though many pics from this location didnt work for medue to me experimenting with a horrid idea for lighting

Got to check out one my current favorite shoot locations, sadly I need to find more to stop reusing the same locations over and over again.

Would like to revisit this place eventually to try and take advantage of it a little better.

A long night btu had some fun, had a fear we might get ticketed and worried we would have a helicopter land on us, but all in all a good night.

As usual the flickr, and feel free to make wallpaper requests if you wish.

2009 Recap Part 3

This was my 1st time doing a shoot in my preferred conditions where I get creative freedom, I got a chance to hang with a semi professional photographer and got to see some new equipment and try some of it out, looking forward to getting a change to get some of it myself in the Future.

A very nice example of a Civic SI, I haven't had much interest in Civics since he EK9 but this is a very nice, clean example of a modern Civic.

Was quite along trip to the shooting location, we where shooed away from the 1st place and spent quite a while trying to find a 2nd location, eventually we found a parking garage, and it was frankly a good thing since it started pouring later on in the day.

Quite like this dash, and the contrasting black red and white in the photo, there are some small things I don't like about it, but pretty much can be blamed due to be inexperience at the time.

This day showed me the mass amount of time that usually goes into shoots (something I've subsequently proven under my own shoots) was quite surprised with the amount of time that goes into it.

I disappointingly lost quite a few pics of this car due to my own idiocy but oh well, live and learn, the owner just got the hardtop for this something I think I would have to follow suit with if I got an s2k.

After a while a couple cool guys came, one who runs a 3 series in DMCC East, another who's 240, to my understanding is under build right now, but there was some engagement in a little ..shall we say recreational oversteer.

Some experimenting with my buddies strobe set up, looking forward to getting my own set up one day.

As usual check out my flickr for higher res photos as well as more photos from this set and more.

2009 Recap Part 2

My 1st time focusing on a large interest of mine, cars! You will be seeing alot of this if you focus on this blog in the slightest bit, I always have loved cars as long as I can remember.

My 1st shoot was with some guys over at SON240sx, a southern Ontario 240 forum, got to meet some cool people, shoot with some people, and met a few photo contacts, was a hot day but overall cant complain.

Seen a sand pile, had cars, someone had to try and go over it, sadly it ended poorly and a tow cable was needed.

I found out that car meets, while great for socializing around a common interest, I simply don't care to much for shooting in such a situation, simply because it's a situation where your more taking pics of whats there rather then having creative freedom over the situation and how things are to be set up. Still great for meeting people and setting shoots up for the possible future.

A very nice stock example of an S14, I heard it was sold shortly after this weekend. Decided to try to refine some editing techniques with this photo.

Found a nice location for future shoots down here that I will certainly be using for future shoots, but need to check the location out some more since I know there are some other interesting places in the area.

I've never been a big S14 fan, but absolutely fell in love with this machine upon laying eyes on it and would proudly own it .

I met a few people who I still keep in contact with today, will most likely be having more shoots with them this year when their cars are back on the road.

Amazing stance, the owner still says he wants lower I think hes mad but we will see what happens, I don't think he can go wrong with this car.

Fairly stock S13, looking forward to what the owner eventually has in mind for the car.

2009 Recap Part 1

Well since getting my camera this past year, I’ve been getting harassed by a few people to get a blog up and running, had little interest in doing so initially, but why the hell not, maybe get my photos out there a little bit and post some of the various other oddities I find online. Things on here will largely be focused on my photos and various things in the automotive world, but won’t be the sole things on here.

One of my 1st photographs, an accidental picture really that I simply got through some experimenting

Anyways without getting things out of hand I’m simply going to be posting the various photos I took in 2009 as somewhat of a recap of last years work and god knows this post will be long enough as is, so enough of the intros I’ll get to the meat of the posting.

Another accident of mine trying to get a motion shot, still a nice effect of the picture being half in focus

First set of things will be photos from last year that I will be posting in various parts, simply to make things more, shall I say bite sized chunks, anyways onto the photos.

Sunrise over lake Ontario, still one of my favorite pictures with the contrast of colour and black.

This photo was initially quite like the above photo but wanted to set it apart with some editing.

The sun initially confused me when it started coming up, since it was the 1st sunrise I've seen in person, I thought it was a ship coming over the horizon.

Please visit my flickr for more photos and feel free to give me requests for wallpaper sized prints with your screens resolution.
